About us
Irving Sykes was founded in 2015 by Nicholas Sykes, who continues to be the creative force and guiding vision behind the company today.
Nick studied Furniture Design, Making, and the Conservation of Antique Furniture at the world-renowned West Dean College in Chichester — an institution celebrated for its commitment to traditional craftsmanship and excellence. His deep passion for furniture design and the history of furniture led him to work with some of London’s most distinguished antique restorers and dealers, where he honed his understanding of fine craftsmanship, proportion, and detail.
After years spent restoring and studying some of the country’s most exceptional pieces, Nick founded Irving Sykes to bring together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Drawing upon an extensive knowledge that spans 18th-century furniture through to modern architecture, Nick and his team now focus exclusively on designing and making bespoke kitchens and fine furniture for discerning clients across the UK.
At the heart of Irving Sykes is a commitment to timeless design, honest materials, and impeccable craftsmanship — principles that continue to shape every project we create.
